TEHRAN (News agencies) – Security forces clashed with opposition protesters gathered yesterday for a memorial for Iran's most senior dissident cleric, beating men and women and firing teargas, reformist websites reported.

A re-elected member of the banned Muslim Brotherhood's Guidance Bureau and the first runner for the group's top spot said yesterday the International Shura Council of the group had not taken a final decision on the new supreme guide.
"The international council has to endorse the supreme guide and the decision has not been taken yet," said Mohamed Badia, a pathology professor.
